A Picture says a thousand words ... sometime it even says the whole story to us .All we need is the different vision to perceive and understand the words of the story .. This is my page where I will try to share some of my experience and hidden little stories as I see the world .
Most of these photographs are taken on my cell phone , luckily which works as magic with some tweaking on the settings . the green looks greener , and blue comes with multiple hues ...

As I travel through various part of this beautiful country through out my service life , hopefully I will gather such shots which tells us the story of the land ,Its people and my narration ..

Creepy confessions.. from MORGAN House ,kalimpong

The mercury falls here pretty quickly, just once the sun sets, the cool wind blows down through the down slope of the hills and you will feel the chill bite at your bone ..   I was for here for a work and the hosts and workers at Morgan house told me not to venture in the vacant rooms and bathrooms.   It was a moonlight night and Tuesday …. And She might come tonight. The Morgan house stand on the top of Kalimpong’s Chandraloke area near the Durpin dara army cantonment, the Villa reminds us of the dilapidated  colonial  history. The mansion was build by Mr George Morgan ,a British tea planter in 1930s . The view from here is amazing. After crossing the Golf course take the uphill and walk for two mins, you will see a villa with lush green lawn ,a creeper plant on the wall , half of which is almost dead now in the winter, a big parking space ,the Morgan house at a 13 acre property   . Death in the heavens

It was morning ,and by 7 am I was ready to be picked up by my  fellow Deputy Magistrate Mr Sushant Bala. we were on our way to Samsing , a small forest village in Gorubathan block in Kalimpong district.  My driver came and knocked at the door , I was ready , so with out wasting any time , we set off . Gorubathan is about 80 km from Kalimpong ,  There are two routes to reach from Kalimpong. One goes up  from Kalimpong to Lava and then comes down through the lush green forest of the Dooars ,and the other via the famous coronation bridge and zip though the NH 31 to gorubathan. Samsing is about 6 to 7 kms from gorubathan. Just a few days back I was here when I was spending a happy-go weekend with friends  at suntaleykhola .This places lines up in a straight line beside the jaldhaka river which is the border of India and Bhutan . Getting lost in a wrong turn ...

Life is so unpredictable. Even we plan for every minute details ,at some point of time we have to take that unknown turn. And that's when magic happens. Traversing the less known path always adds something to our character. We witness new abilities ,new likings and new moods of ourselves, things that never came to prominence at life as usual. We meet new people,new faces ,may be a face that we decide to die for through the rest of our life ..  Such magic do waits for everyone. Just we need to checkout from the life as usual. And frankly speaking ,this happens to me every time now a days. New job and new challenges. With most of them ,I have no idea how to deal at the starting. But eventually when you are in deep neck water ,you learn how to swim . Leaving about the job, let's come to the place.. Kalimpong is very beautiful.. It was 6 th of Nov , a notification on my   phone from some horoscope site read “ reward for hard work is shortly due ” , next day after a spell of drama at ARTI , Salboni I got the posting  at Kalimpong .  WOW .. Horoscope are sometime true, even though I didn’t cared about them too much in life .. Any ways. Hills were calling … A place which is close to my soul. And a chance to be here for next one year.. Hell yah ..  So I was there with my bags packed and ready to go . There was no point in avoiding the fact that I came here with so much of expectation.This time I am just not a tourist, Executive magistrate after all. I thought all the pleasures of good life – Bunglow gari bla bla will be readily available .. But life is not about what we plan, but it’s about what you face and how you face them. Caught at the cross roads

About a month back , on the first week of Feb , it was a boring weekend as I had nothing to do here . A week before I had bought my old horse  at Kalimpong .These are  my early days on bike at the hills , and before I plan to go to the distant and more step curves on the Himalayas , I thought to give it a try to the nearby places . There’s no destination as such, just to explore new roads and new curves and if lucky to get  a chance to capture a few good snaps . But the weather is not that good. It has been almost 10 days the weather has been overcast and cloudy . I could barely see the town from my balcony ,accompanying it ,may be the last bite of the winter chills. Around 10 am I started my bike , crossed the town towards Algarah   town which is the headquarter of the Kalimpong II development block . While it was almost 4 pm at that time and we were still shaking from top to down like an aftershock after the journey of the land rover from Maney Bhanjan   to Sandakphu , many of us were not in a state to enjoy the chill , as few of them ran ASAP to the newly created lavish guest house of the district magistrate ,Darjeeling at Sandakphu .The inside was more than a five star hotel will offer you at this altitude and inhospitable place .. But the bohemian me was upset, shouting loud : “you are not here to get into your quilt at 5 PM” .. That’s true .. Even though I was before here, still can’t wait to say Hi!!   to old friends , the caretaker of the hotel Sherpa Chalet and the care taker of the forest guest house   and the trees and the rocky terrain , the thorny bushes and the always alert jawans of SSB. Ignited Minds at Kalimpong Science Fair

Today a scince exhibition and competition was organised by the District Magistrates office at the science center ,kalimpong . Students from class 8 to 12 participated in it .. This two guys Fungsuk and his friend from class 9 actually came up with an innovative model to redirect and reroute the traffic of the town to reduce traffic jam , and free up a considerable area in the heart of the town which is now used as bus and taxi stands .. The whole District administration inc luding District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate and Supperindent of police liked their approach.. It's heartening to see how such young students are thinking and participating in developmental planning to solve the issues of their immediate neighborhood.. We wish them a bright future ahead .. The last sunset from 2017 ... Welcome 2018

It was the last day of the year 2017 ,I was at Kalimpong, Teesta, Delo View Point with a cup of coffee and a fag, trying to keep myself warm in the chilly breeze that blows in the evening at kalimpong . I Don't know who the guys was , but thanks to him I got a chance to capture this magnificent frame. AAHHH.....The last day of the year , and I thought tomorrow will be a new beginning to some people some will think life as usual. For a few moments I thought my self flying the parachute, taking stock of all the happenings , moments , achievements , misses and losses from a distance .. Flying over the city , suddenly a gush of wind threw my glider out of balance and fear crept in ,as if I was having a free fall. The Nuclear connection : Midnapur and Hiroshima

If there is a place whose values were completely forgotten or perhaps I say have been ignored , this could be this air bases , build at the time of World War II. And how many of us leaving in Midnapur are aware of that ? Lets visit the history once again . There are 4 little known or even forgotten airbases in Midnapur , one is obviously the kolaikunda which is still in operation . And there are some abandoned air bases in this part of the world , that holds links to the atomic attack on Japan . This air fields are in pierdoba on the border of Bankura and west Midnapur , Duduhkundi near Jhargram in west Midnapur , Charra in Purulia ,Salboni in midnapur . The airbases were built during the times of world war II , the primary reason was to thwart the Japanese invasion in Burma .  Data is important? How much.  may be it was never before.  Why ? A thought came to my mind , in advance of big data where I can imagine the near future ? Well, may be we can tell our future ? We generate data every time we do any activity for most of the times. Make calls ,  whom I am calling , how much time I am calling , from and to where I am calling , or in facebook  , what is my mood today , the type of picture or videos I share ,like or comment can be analyzed to find  my general interest, the key words I am passing in my comments and status , major life events , where I am eating, what am I eating , how much I am earning , how much I am spending , what I am buying from online stores , which products I am interested in , what Google searches I am making , again related to general interests.
